How this is measured

Season totals for every game a team played, tournaments included, from ESPN's statistics feed; every rate is computed from those totals. To be ranked a player must have appeared in 60% of his team's games, and:

  • eFG% and TS%: 5 field-goal attempts per team game
  • 3P%: 2 three-point attempts per team game; FT%: 2 free-throw attempts per team game
  • Usage, points per 40 and assists per turnover: 40% of his team's minutes

Usage is the share of a team's shot-ending plays (field-goal attempts, 0.475 × free-throw attempts, turnovers) a player used while he was on the floor. It is left blank where the players listed for a team do not add up to its minutes, which is about one team in seven in seasons before 2025-26: the feed names a player's current school, so his school in an earlier season is worked out from that season's rosters, and a few are wrong. The feed has no offensive rebounds, so there are no rebounding rates here.
