Penalty kill %31 clubs

Columbus Blue Jackets: the highest penalty kill % in the league at 100.0%. Los Angeles Kings sit last of 31 at 20.0%; the club in the middle is at 88.9%.

Share of times shorthanded that ended without a goal against. It says nothing about how many penalties a club takes.

How this is measured

League measures come from the NHL's own season report for 2026-27, regular season only. They are per-game averages and rates, not adjusted for the schedule. Team save percentage is one minus goals against over shots against, so empty-net goals count against it.

The "Our model" measures are our current ratings. Before a club has played, they are last season's form carried over and pulled toward the league average, so in the preseason they and the league measures describe different seasons. GP on those rows counts games our ratings have seen this season. Methodology →
